Creating Your Own ThursdayNightSupper.Club

Thank you so much for your interest in setting up a local ThursdayNightSupper.Club group!

We believe that the Thursday Night Supper Club is a great way to create a sense of community and belonging, and we’re so grateful to have passionate people like you helping to spread the word. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need support in getting your group up and running. We’re here to help and can’t wait to see all the amazing connections and memories you and your group will create.

The instructions below are for the Facebook model of the Club, however, you can adapt it to suit your community needs. (We’re looking at you, Meetup.com People!)

  • Set up a ThursdayNightSupper.Club Facebok Group for your Community. Click here for instructions
  • In the group settings tab of the Facebook Group fill in the name of the Group and a useful description, with a link to the ThursdayNightSupper.Club website. You can use the the sample text below to get started.

This is an informal community group.

The Thursday Night Supper Club comes from the idea that food and connection are the building blocks of a happy and fulfilling life.

The ThursdayNightSupper.Club is a way to make it easy to people gather around a shared meal to create a sense of community and belonging that is hard to find in our busy lives. The Club meets at a neighbour’s home the share stories, laughter, and good food — We are out to deepen our relationships, make new friends, find common ground and create a support network that can sustain us through life’s ups and downs.

  • Keep reaching out to people and form new connections! Invite others to join the Group.
  • We will find favourite people, which is fantastic! Also remember to mix it up every now and then.
  • Visit other Hosted Suppers in your Community.
  • Set the privacy settings for the Group to "Private" so that only members can see who's in the group and what they post.
  • Set the Group to be "Visible" so that anyone can find the group ignorer to ask to join.
  • Set how the Membership will be managed. (We suggest that any member of the group can approve membership
  • In the Manage discussions tab turn "OFF" Anonymous Posting.
  • In the Added to Group section, we suggest disabling everything except for "Events" and "Polls"
  • In the Group Rules section, include "Release of Liability Statement for Dinner Party in Private Residence" and link to the liability section of this website (link in the footer)
  • Come back to this website and fill in the "Get in touch" form with your Facebook group URL so we can add it to the directory, That way your users can find you from here, as well.
  • Option: add custom cover images to your group, or use ours. You can download the cover image here https://thursdaynightsupper.club/fbcover/
  • Start inviting people to join the Group!
  • Schedule to Host the first ThursdayNightSupper.Club
  • Let us know how your Community is doing. Share your experience with others!

The Fine Print.

If you want to take the idea and create something different, maybe a “Saturday Afternoon Model Train Workshop” That is fantastic. Feel free to copy the structure and adapt it for your own needs under these terms.
